Getting to Know Access Books/Unit Study HelpsHello! Welcome to our homeschool family. Over the years, many folks have asked me to "fill them in" on myself and my family. I believe that if you are going to take advice from or possibly even buy products from a person, that you have a right to know something about them. BELIEFSI accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my Saviour when I was 18. My husband had known the Lord since he was a child. We got married in 1990. Since that time, we have 5 wonderful children. We are doing our best to raise our children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. I thank the Lord for them every day. I am excited for you to meet them.
I enjoy homeschooling and helping others on their homeschooling journey. I love studying the Word, sewing, taking pictures, sharing the kitchen with my husband and spending time on the computer. I enjoy most being a mom. HOW I BECAME A HOMESCHOOLING MOM We started homeschooling in 1999. My three oldest children had gone to public school, private school and then home. After some experiences that were contradictory to our beliefs, we had decided to homeschool our children. I did not know a thing about home schooling. We just trusted in the Lord to lead us. We connected with a lady, Lynn Hogan, and she assured us that we could do it. We started with doing some reading and here we are today. As I am writing today, my youngest two children are in the ninth grade. My oldest three have graduated and are in colleges of varying degrees. I have also homeschooled three additional children under my license that have graduated as well. My children are wonderful. Without them, I would not be what I am today. They love the Lord. My husband's name is Pete. He is wonderful. Many of you may have met him at the bookstore. He loves to cook, so we spend alot of time in the kitchen. He hs been very supportive in our homeschool journey and helps when he can. Access Books had started in a small room 8 x 14. My husband and I had a desire to help other homeschooling families. In November of 2005 we purchased Lynn Hogan's business and website Unit Study Helps. Now we have to offer you a retail store and website selling both new and used curriculum. It is great! We help people all over the world. On a more serious note, all homeschool families have different needs and we do not have to do the same thing that the other family has done. Homeschooling is flexible. There are many different curriculums to choose from and many different styles. Homeschooling famlies are like a bouquet of flowers. One flower has its own unique beauty and a bouquet has a combined beauty.
