Workshop Descriptions

The heart of our ministry is going out and talking to parents. We love to go to large support groups as well as to talk to smaller groups (5-10). Here is a list of the workshops that we already have available. If you are interested in one not mentioned below, call us and we will be glad to consider it!

Getting Dad Involved In Your School - Jim and Lynn Hogan
This is a workshop that we love to do. The approach is not "you should drag dad into homeschooling kicking and screaming", but more the approach "Dad really wants to do it, let's give him some tools to do it with!" We are very down-to-earth about our successes and failures in this area.

(This is a one hour workshop and we like to give it to support groups. The only fee we ask is that we be allowed to bring curriculum to show and sell before, during or immediately after the meeting.) NOTE: This is for workshops within 60 miles of our home. We will travel further, but we do ask the sponsoring group to pay our traveling expenses).

How to Homeschool - Jim and Lynn Hogan
This is an all day seminar. We discuss organizing your homes, choosing curriculum, working with different age groups and planning for success. Part of the above mentioned "Dad" workshop is also included! Each attendee will go home with many pages of handouts as well as tons of encouragement and notes.

(Generally there is a $30 fee per pre-registered attendee - spouses are free. There is a minimum number of participants.)

Teaching Different Levels - How IS it Done? - Lynn Hogan
This is a great support group workshop. I talk about how you manage a school day filled with students of different ages and learning styles!

(This is a one hour workshop. The only fee we ask is that we be allowed to bring curriculum to show and sell before, during or immediately after the meeting.) NOTE: This is for workshops within 60 miles of our home. We will travel further, but there is a small fee for those.

Unit Studies - What are They and Why Would ANYONE Want to Do Them? - Lynn Hogan This is a support group workshop where we explain how unit studies really work and how they may or may not be appropriate for your students and your teaching style! We even do some brainstorming to see how the process works!

(This is a one hour workshop. The only fee we ask is that we be allowed to bring curriculum to show and sell before, during or immediately after the meeting.) NOTE: This is for workshops within 60 miles of our home. We will travel further, but there is a small fee for those.

Fun in Your Homeschool - Lynn Hogan Even traditional homeschoolers can benefit from Lynn's workshop on how to have fun. You can have fun learning without losing any academic excellence. Come and see some great ideas for putting the fun back in your homeschool. a.. Lynn has graduated two homeschoolers and has been helping homeschooling families for many years. She has been married to her best friend Jim for 23 years. Lynn's passion is helping homeschooling parents be successful in their homeschooling journey.

(This is a one hour workshop. The only fee we ask is that we be allowed to bring curriculum to show and sell before, during or immediately after the meeting.) NOTE: This is for workshops within 60 miles of our home. We will travel further, but there is a small fee for those.
